Itumeleng V Mongale is the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer attached to the UNODC Africa Anti-Corruption Hub and based at Regional Office for Southern Africa. His main responsibility is to work with and support the Pan-African anti-corruption bodies in Sub-Saharan Africa and ensure that there is a synergistic relationship between the 3 UNODC Regional Platforms and Pan-African anti-corruption bodies such as the Commonwealth Africa Anti-Corruption Centre, Association of African Anti-Corruption Authorities and SADC Anti-Corruption Committee.
In the last 4 years, he provided technical assistance to the 8 countries of the Regional Platform for Southern Africa on fast-tracking the implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption. He has over 17 years of experience in the field of anti-corruption. He previously held various senior management positions in the Government of South Africa.
