Objective: To reduce corruption by fostering collective action to strengthen policy and legislative frameworks that incentivize business integrity and penalize wrongdoing, and by supporting companies in adopting and implementing anti-corruption standards

The “Uniting Leaders for Business Integrity” project aims at fostering collective action to strengthen anti-corruption policies, legal frameworks and measures applicable to the private sector.

The project seeks to build capacities to enhance business integrity in accordance with the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and the Principle Ten of the UN Global Compact. Focusing on the global, regional and national levels, it leverages the mandates, expertise and networks of UNODC and the UN Global Compact to achieve maximum impact.

To achieve its objectives, the project implements several activities that:

foster collective action to strengthen policy and legislative frameworks that incentivize business integrity and penalize wrongdoing;
support selected countries to develop policies and regulations for business integrity through collective action involving governments, companies and other relevant stakeholders;
build the capacity of companies in designing and applying measures to effectively enhance governance and mitigate corruption risks.

3 Think Lab sessions and one-on-one interviews held with member companies

Over 280 participants from 6 countries attended our 7 webinars on business integrity

6 technical guidance resources developed, including a national integrity plan for Kenya and draft anti-corruption legislation for Uruguay

Developed, published and disseminated the publication “A Resource Guide on State Measures for Strengthening Business Integrity” in 3 languages

195 participants from over 15 countries engaged in 6 trainings and workshops

Convened the first-ever Private Sector Forum at a CoSP in December 2023, bringing together over 200 stakeholders to discuss the future of business integrity

Over 500 companies signed an anti-corruption Call-to-Action urging governments to engage in collective action to tackle corruption effectively

Adoption of resolution 10/12 on “Providing incentives for the private sector to adopt integrity measures to prevent and combat corruption” by 190 parties at CoSP10

29 government officials trained on business integrity

Informal consultation sessions on business integrity: Focus on compliance programmes and incentives in public procurement
