Barbara Tsai leads Microsoft’s Asia-Pacific compliance program, overseeing compliance strategy, risk mitigation, and cross Asia collaboration across diverse markets. With deep expertise in anti-corruption, internal investigations, AI and emerging technologies, Barbara is a thought leader in compliance program design and execution.
She is a regular speaker on forward thinking AI embedded legal work, particularly in the areas of compliance, internal investigations and Responsible AI. She has also played a key role in shaping regional best practices through multi-sector public-private partnership contributions.
Barbara is a graduate of Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh, School of Foreign Service, and received her Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School. She started her career as in international trade lawyer with the U.S. Department of Commerce, representing the U.S. government before U.S. courts, bi-national and WTO panels. Her career has spanned time in private practice in Shanghai, China, working for a U.S. law firm, as well as a prior role with UBS, heading up the Asia-Pacific regional Anti-Bribery and Corruption program and acting as Deputy Global Head of Anti-Bribery and Corruption for the bank.
