Christie Ippisch, Chief Compliance Officer, Progreso Cemento
With more than 30 years of experience in finance and compliance, I have built a career defined by ethical, purposeful, and transformative leadership. I began my professional path in finance at Hampton Bank and Banco de Occidente, and in 1994 I joined Citibank, where I excelled in roles such as Corporate Treasurer and Head of Financial Institutions. In 2005, I decided to focus my career on Ethics and Compliance, becoming the Corporate Ethics and Compliance Officer and leading the COVEC-Progreso Committee. Through these positions, I have helped strengthen a corporate culture grounded in transparency, integrity, and responsible governance.
Driven by a passion for developing future leaders, I currently serve as a Corporate Compliance professor at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, where I aim to inspire and motivate the next generation to uphold the highest ethical standards. I also hold certifications in ISO 37001: Anti-Bribery Management Systems and Business Ethics, reinforcing my commitment to excellence and the fight against corruption.
My dedication goes beyond the corporate sphere. I have taken on leadership roles in Fundación Ayuvi—which supports Guatemala’s pediatric cancer hospital—and actively participated in educational boards such as the American School of Guatemala. These engagements reflect my belief in contributing meaningfully to the social well-being of my country. Across all these initiatives, I reaffirm my commitment to being a catalyst for positive change in Guatemala by advancing compliance practices and promoting a culture of integrity that inspires others to lead by example.
I am strongly committed to contributing my knowledge and strategic vision not only to strengthen organizational compliance practices, but also to positively impact Guatemalan society. My goal is to help create a more transparent, ethical, and responsible environment, thereby contributing to a legacy of sustainable change in Guatemala.
