Clara Aquino, General Director for Integrity and Transparency, Office of the Comptroller General of Paraguay
Clara graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the National University of Asunción, specializing in Criminal Sciences and a graduate of the training school for Magistrates. She leads the implementation of Law No. 7389/2024, which establishes the National Regime for Integrity, Transparency, and Corruption Prevention, at the Comptroller General of the Republic of Paraguay. Since 2020, she has held executive positions in anti-corruption, such as Director of International Relations and Director General of Prevention and Transparency at the now defunct National Anti-Corruption Secretariat. She has collaborated with UNDP, IDB, GIZ, World Bank, and UNODC on initiatives such as the Integrity Seal aimed at companies and programs to promote ethics among children, youth, and teachers. She is a government expert to UNCAC, a member of the MESICIC Committee of Experts, and acts as a focal point for the OECD. Her participation in regional courses and events highlights her commitment to transparency and integrity. As a mother and professional, she balances her personal life with an active role in the fight against corruption.
