Ian McDougall is President of the LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation; A charitable organisation registered in the US and established to advance the Rule of Law.
Ian McDougall a Professor at IE University in Madrid, teaching the Rule of Law, Freedom of Speech in the Digital Age, and Artificial Intelligence & the legal profession.
In 2025 he was appointed as Chair of the Bowls Development Alliance. Since 2023 he has been a Trustee of the Civil Liberties Trust in the UK and since 2024 Trustee of the International Bar Association Foundation.
Until September 2024 Ian McDougall was the Executive Vice President and General Counsel for LexisNexis, having been with LexisNexis for 20 years. At LexisNexis, Mr. McDougall stepped into various roles, including CEO – AsiaPac, HR Director and Managing Director for LexisNexis New Zealand.
He is a Consulting Editor of Halsbury’s Laws of England and General Editor of “Cases That Changed Our Lives”.
