Samantha Padayachee, Managing Executive for Group Compliance, Vodacom
With over 28 years of experience in various multi-national global organizations across multiple industries and disciplines, she brings a wealth of expertise in business compliance risk, business integrity and ethics, risk management, legal, regulatory, and governance. Her career has spanned financial services, including insurance, investment management, collective investments, banking, stockbroking, and wealth management, and now telecommunications, fintech, and mobile money.
Currently, she serves as the Managing Executive for Group Compliance at Vodacom Group, where my mandate extends to Financial Services Risk. She is a Board Member of the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa. In 2023, she was honoured to receive the Compliance Officer of the Year award, and her team was recognized as the most Innovative Compliance Team of the Year in the industry. Additionally, she was awarded the 2024 Vodafone Group Risk Manager of the Year Award for Financial Services Risk Management and risk management best practices. Most recently, I received the Compliance Fellowship Award from the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa. Her commitment to compliance and integrity extends beyond Vodacom Group. She actively participates in industry initiatives, serving as the Co-Chair of the Brazil B20 Co-Chair Compliance & Integrity Taskforce and a member of the B20 SA Integrity and Compliance Taskforce, and contributing to the UNODC initiatives in building the Integrity Agenda
