Bogotá (Colombia) - 18 August, 2022. - With the objective of continuing to strengthen the exchange of positive experiences of the Colombian private sector regarding integrity and the fight against corruption, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the Andean Region and the Southern Cone, together with the Global Compact (Colombia) and Alliance for Integrity, presented the second edition of the publication "Innovating in Business Integrity in Colombia: Good Anti-Corruption Practices".
The publication presents initiatives undertaken by Colombian companies committed to the fight against corruption, all of them deserving to be divulged for having achieved significant results on the matter.
Besides recognizing the organizations with the most innovative practices in Colombia, the publication seeks to motivate other companies and institutions from Latin America to learn about and replicate the experiences presented, as well as to support the design and implementation of new strategies aimed at promoting business integrity.
For this edition, an international and multisectoral jury of experts in the field of prevention and fight against corruption evaluated the good practices and selected the best ones, taking as a reference criteria legitimacy, relevance, effectiveness, replicability and sustainability, with a special focus on innovation.
During the launch event, the UNODC Regional Representative for the Andean Region and the Southern Cone, Candice Welsch, highlighted the importance of the publication as a key advance in strengthening the quality of actions undertaken by the private sector in the prevention of corruption. “The good practices received accounted for a whole range of possibilities to promote common and valuable objectives: from the application of integrity standards to business partners, to the promotion of gender equality in line with anti-corruption efforts”.
This effort is part of the commitment of UNODC and international cooperation to promote sustainable actions that involve the private sector as a responsible agent in taking clear measures against the scourge of corruption and promoting high standards of integrity.
